Did You Know?: The Pharaohs of ancient Egypt were amongst the first people to recognise the importance of the Soldiers of the Soil. In fact Cleopatra declared the earthworm sacred, and anyone trying to take them out of the country was subjected to the death penalty. Tests carried out in the Nile valley by the US Department of Agriculture in 1949 proved that the great fertility of the soil there was due largely to the work of earthworms.
 
 
 
What is SQWorming?

Vermicomposting (Worm Farming) is a system for turning food waste into Humus (high quality super-rich compost aka Black Gold) with the help of worms. You can convert all your fruit and vegetable refuse to compost and fertilizer. You can SQ’Worm on your flat balcony, in your garage, and even in your kitchen.

Worm Castings & VermiMulch Compost:


Worm Castings:

This is 100% Organic Vermi-Compost (Worm Castings), including worms. These worm castings are the result of approximately 3 - 6 months of Vermi-Composting. This Humus is extremely concentrated.

Vermi-Mulch Compost:

A mixture of Vermi-Compost (Worm Castings) + Mushroom Mulch. Vermi Mulch consists of (30%) Organic Vermi-Compost (Worm Castings), and 70% Mushroom Mulch, with added organic calcium concentrate. This is very, very concentrated humus compost, as a result of the beneficial organisms in Mushroom Mulch mixed with the benefits of the worm castings.

100% Liquid Organic Fertilizer:
 
This is vermileachate, or simply Worm Wee. It is highly concentrated Organic Liquid Fertilizer.
 
To Use: Dilute it 1:100 with water, for use in the garden or on vegetables; and 1:50 for potplants.

 

Dr. Soil Science:

Dr. SQWorms also provides soil science consulting. Once you have got your soil assayed by a soil testing laboratory, your soil test is analysed. You need to tie all major and minor soil nutrients together in correct proportion and relationship, so they balance each other, and form part of a living soil.
 
Once done, there is no more need for large doses of fertilizers,  massive inputs of organic matter, or insecticides. While it is impossible to control climate or rainfall, it is possible to control the level and balance of essential soil nutrients and their relationships to each other, why they are necessary, what they do and how.
